SHARED FLATS/SHARED APPARTMENTS

In shared flats we have two different options: sharing an apartment with other international students from our school, or sharing an apartment with Spanish people.
We do recommend the first option, and although the common language is typically English, you must agree to speak Spanish amongst you as often as possible.
If you choose to share a flat with Spanish people, you will be able to have conversations in Spanish while you are at home.
The number of students in these flats varies between 3 and 5.
Our student flats are located in the heart of the city, and all rooms have the basic amenities, as well as shared living room, kitchen and bathroom. You will also have a washing machine and an iron. Meals are not included, and the cleaning will be your responsibility.
This is the best option if you want the opportunity to live with a variety of students from different cultures.

HOST FAMILIES

The families that we work with know how to take care of their guests. With our host families you will be able to learn more about the Spanish culture and to see what life is really like in a Spanish home. You’ll also be able to practice your Spanish day in and day out, starting the moment when you enter the door right up until it’s time for your departure. Keep in mind that many families life in flats or apartments rather than houses. Students will be able to receive phone calls at home and each student will receive their own set of keys so that they can come and go as they please. With your host family you will also be able to choose a meal plan. A partial meal plan would include breakfast, and a full meal plan includes breakfast, lunch (which in Spain is served around 2pm) and dinner (around 9pm). You should keep in mind that the meal schedules may restrict the hours in which you’ll be able to do your chosen activities.

STUDENT RESIDENCE

The student residency is similar to a dorm-life living situation. Located in the center, you will be able to choose an individual or shared room and also the meal option you prefer. You can have just breakfast or breakfast and dinner provided for you. Each room will have all the necessary amenities and you will share common spaces with other international students. It is probable that the students will be from many different countries, but we encourage you to try to communicate in Spanish as often as possible.
