There is a ½ hour coffee break with the teachers every day. Intensive 25 25 group lessons per week. Same structure as the Standard Course 20, but with 5 extra lessons per week, focused on improving oral communication. Intensive Course 30 30 hours per week 25 group lessons and 5 one-to-one hours (60 minutes), dedicated to work on those aspects of the language that need to be reinforced or to improve oral communication skills.  | Activities Academia Iria Flavia activity programme chases two main goals: -Help you practice your Spanish in contexts and situations other than the classroom. -Help you gain a wider and more down-to-earth knowledge of Galicia’s culture and society, which is rather different from the image of Spain typically held out of our borders. To this end, the city of Santiago itself provides a valuable help. Here, especially in certain periods of the year, there are plenty of things to do or to see: concerts in all the historic district squares during the summer festivities, many of which are free; museums, also free, as the Etnográfico del Pueblo Gallego (Galician People Ethnographic Museum); film and theater seasons; street shows; all kind of exhibitions… We will keep you up to date about what is going on in Santiago while you are here. Free Services Academia Iria Flavia organizes at least 2 free activities weekly. In the summer the average is of 4 activities a week. On the first day of your course, and provided there is a minimum of 5 students beginning the course, we invite you to an orientation tour around the city followed by a drink and tapas in the historic district. This will be your first taste of Spain! Touristic Tour Visitas al mercado Muy próximo a la escuela se encuentra este mercado, que ofrece a los habitantes de la ciudad un rico y variado surtido de productos naturales del mar y del campo. Además, el edificio en el que está situado es parte del conjunto monumental de Santiago y sorprende, además de por su belleza, por su animado ambiente. Ruta de tiendas de artesanía Un recorrido por las tiendas de artesanía más típicas de la ciudad. Son tiendas especializadas en todo tipo de productos de Galicia (textiles, cerámica, gastronómicos) elaborados a mano. Además se pueden ver otros artículos como libros en gallego o cd’s de música celta, que es la música folk gallega. Ruta de la moda Ruta de las tiendas de moda más conocidas de la ciudad. en la que podrás conocer las tiendas del grupo Inditex (Zara, Stradivarius, Pull Culture Asistencia a conciertos, cine y teatro Los profesores de Academia Iria Flavia te acompañarán a los conciertos y eventos culturales más importantes que se celebren durante tu estancia en Santiago. Proyección comentada de películas En los locales de Academia Iria Flavia proyectamos películas de cine español o latino-americano. Todos los estudiantes pueden asistir a estas proyecciones de forma gratuita. Tras la proyección, si tenemos tiempo, iniciamos una charla sobre la película, el tema que trata... acompañados por un profesor. Audiciones de música española Seleccionamos canciones, grupos y cantantes representativos de la música española actual. También escuchamos algunos “clásicos” de la música moderna que no pasan de moda. La audición está complementada con comentarios, textos y explicaciones de las letras de las canciones. Gastronomy Wine tasting In O Beiro, one of the best cellars in Galicia. Led by one of our teachers, Academia Iria Flavia invites you to taste the most representative wines in Galicia, as well as the cheeses and cold meats which are typical in our region. The owner of the cellar will give us some tips about the most important Galician wines, its characteristics and the differences from other Spanish wines. This activity is offered at an additional cost. Tapas Tour Led by an IF teacher, we wonder about the most typical bars and taverns in the Old Town. In Santiago, ir de vinos is a traditional activity for people of all ages. It means we go to different bars or taverns; in each bar, we order a drink (wine, beer, even water or soft drinks!) and taste the tapa we are offered. Every bar offers free tapas with your drink, and each of them has its own speciality: empanada, mussels, potatoes, different kinds of meat... The cost of this activity wil depend on how many bars we visit... |
