Hispano Continental is located in the historical district of the city, one minute from the Plaza Mayor, immersed in the urban and cultural life of the city.

Our centre was founded in 1989 with the aim of providing an efficient and friendly environment in which to learn Spanish. Since then the centre has had great success, as demonstrated by the increasing number of satisfied students who come from all over the world to study here.

Our teaching methods are highly communicative, interactive and constantly evolving. All of our teachers are native speakers, university graduates, specialized in ELE, with many years of experience, always developing, professional and enthusiastic. Our most important teaching strategic is the personalized attention we give our students which helps them to progress rapidly.

Besides learning in your Spanish class, you can complement your training with the different extra-curricular activities offered by H.C. You also have access to the library at the centre, and can use the lending service for books and audiovisual materials, which will help you in your learning.
Free Wi-Fi and computers are available at H.C.; all these services can be used during the hours that the Centre is open: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

WHAT COURSES CAN I TAKE?
Choosing a course couldn't be easier, simply choose how long you want to stay and how many hours per day you would like to study. Although we recommend that you begin the first monday of the month, you can incorporate into your course any Monday (except if you are absolute beginner, in this case you can only start the course on the first Monday of each month.

The first day, during school hours, a placement test is given to each student(except absolute beginners)to place the student in the correct level to maximize learning and to make classes homogeneous.

The maximum number of students per class is 8.

All classes meet for 50 minutes except private courses which are 60 minutes.

CERTIFICATES.
The private centre Hispano Continental will grant the following:

Certificate of attendance: All students will receive this certificate at the end of the course. Students must attend at least 90% their lessons.
Certificate of achievement: Will be given to students who pass the oral and written final exam given by the school.

EXCURSIONS: Many different outings are possible because of Salamanca's ideal geographical location. An optional programme of visits to cities and areas of historic or artistic interest is arranged during all courses.

AMONGST THE PLACES VISITED ARE: La Alberca, La Peña de Francia, Toledo, Madrid, Candelario, Béjar, Burgos, Cáceres, Segovia, Santiago de Compostela, El Escorial and the Valle de los Caidos, Portugal.

Other social and culturaL activities are organised in Salamanca itseLf, such as concerts, theatre visits, art and photographic exhibitions, and different 'fiestas'. We offer an information service and assistance to all students.

Accommodations

For Hispano Continental, accommodation is a very important part of your Spanish learning. When you come to study Spanish in our school, you have a choice of different accommodation types. You simply choose the accommodation that suits you on the enrolment form. Once we have received your enrolment form, we will send you all the information and all the instructions so that you do not have any problem on your journey and during your stay.
All our families, flats, residences and hotels, that work with us, are located in the city centre, a maximum of 20 minutes walking to the Plaza Mayor and the school.
If you are not entirely comfortable, for whatever reason, with the accommodation that has been assigned to you, please notify the school secretary and we will quickly find an alternative.
Normally students arrive on Saturdays or Sundays to begin the course on Monday.
Students must go directly to the lodge when they arrive in Salamanca. If your accommodation is far away from the bus or train station you can take a taxi. People from the family or the apartment´s ower will be wating for you.

We offer our students different possibilities for lodging in Salamanca:

HOST FAMILY: Hispano Continental recommends you this option, it is the best way to integrate fully into Spanish life and culture. H.C. has a wide and excellent list of families. All of whom are carefully chosen and have extensive experience. Families are checked regulary to guarantee the lodging.
Students can choose between:

-Single room and full board.
-Single room and half board.
-Double room and full board.
-Double room and half board.

Chek-in: The Sunday before the course begins.
Check-out: The following Saturday after the course has finished.

The families are located centrally and all have facilities. A laundry service can also be arranged.

SHARED FLAT: You will live with three or four students (foreigners or Spaniards). You will have to share the kitchen, the sitting room and the bathroom(s).

The are two possibilities:

-Individual room
-Double room

All the flats are equipped with the necessary furniture to make your stay comfortable. You are only required to bring your own towels. The flat owner will provide bed linen.
Electricity, water and wifi are included in the price.
All the flats have washing machine and fridge.

Chek-in: The Sunday before the course begins.
Check-out: The following Saturday after finishing the course.

STUDIO APARTMENTS: If you want complete independence, we can find for you an apartment ot studio.

STUDENT RESIDENCE: In the students residences you will live with students from other countries and also from Spain. In Salamanca there is a wide variety and most of them are located in the city centre.
Diferent possibilities:
-Single or double room and full board or half board.
In your choice is living in a student residence, we will look for the options available to you along with their prices.

HOTELS AND HOSTELS: Salamanca has a large variety of hotels and hostels with different categories.
If you choose this option, please contact us, give us your requirements and we will send you a list of hotels and hostels according to your preferences.

-At the end of the course students fill a questionnaire to evaluate accommodation. These results are valued by administration staff and managers.
